Six Flags Holland
Robin Hood Statement
2 September 01/drafted at 8:40 a.m.
On Sunday, September 2nd a young woman was found to be unresponsive when returning to the station on the Robin Hood ride at Six Flags Holland. The park's emergency medical team and two guests with first aid experience responded immediately and the young woman was transported to the hospital.
We have been informed by hospital personnel that the young woman passed away at the hospital. Hospital personnel indicated the death was from natural causes, however, no official results have been released. Our thoughts and prayers are with this young woman's family at this difficult time.
Robin Hood is a wooden roller coaster that has safely delivered various rides to park guests since it opened. It continues to be one of the most popular roller coasters at the park. The ride remains open, as the incident was not related to the operation of the ride.

| 14/07/2001 - Press Conference concerning Safety
in
Belgian Themeparks
This
press conference was organized, following the publication on
14/jul/2001 of a new bill regarding the exploitation of attractions
at Belgian Themeparks.
What this new regulation is about:
For every new attraction, the park owner is subject to a
certification, based on which preventive measures will have to be
taken and an inspection scheme will be drawn up.
Independant controls will be executed, based on a philosophy of
prevention and anticipation.
(criteria: prEN13814).
The controlling institute will be an inidependant advizor for the
parks.
Are Belgian parks unsafe then ?
No. The last 5 years, Belgium counted two deadly incidents and
3 others with seriously wounded victims.
Knowing that the Belgian parks draw about 5 million visitors,
chances are 1 to 5.000.000 that a visitor would be involved in an
accident.
This simple calculation illustrates how very much safe our
Belgian parks are. Furthermore, you have to know that the few
incidents that did happen, ware caused by human error...
